Overlay of 4MAT and Differentiated Instruction
Posted in Uncategorized
Morning Dennis,
I enjoyed your flash presentation. My name is Kristin Mudd. I’m a graduate student at the University of Memphis. I actually e-mailed with Bernice a few months back. Currently, I am in the middle of my thesis. I am a graphic design student, but am really interested in the way people learn. I’ve decided to actually use the 4MAT model as a framework for the design of educational materials. It seems as though the 4MAT model can certainly be overlayed to create a guide for any object used within the classroom. To narrow the scope of my thesis though, I’ve chosen the textbook to focus upon. In the end, I’ll be mocking up one chapter in a 6th grade history book with 4MAT as its framework.
I’m not sure if you have seen it, but there is also a company out of San Jose, CA called Teachers Curriculum Institute. They are using Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelegence model as a guide to producing their textbooks. It looks like they are one of the first to implement something of that nature. And their system was actually adopted by the state. Its encouraging…
Thanks for building this site for people like me to voice oppinions…
